HENDERSONVILLE HOME BOUND MEALS PROGRAM

APRIL 10, 2020 COVID-19 ADJUSTED DELIVERY AND OFFICE SCHEDULE

HBMP is delivering frozen meals to our clients. The clients receive all 5 meals the same day, and the meals are to last until the next delivery. THE CLIENTS RECEIVE THEIR MEALS ON WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY. THE HBMP OFFICE IS OPEN ONLY ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY FROM 8:00AM UNTIL 2:00PM. Due to these changes, we do not need Volunteers at this time.
We have ordered Emergency Shelf Meals for our clients to have on hand in the event the supply chain of frozen meals is interrupted. The cost for the shelf meals is in addition to the cost for the frozen meals.

We are still collecting hard to find items for our clients. THE MOST NEEDED ITEMS AT THIS TIME ARE: HAND SOAP LIQUID or BAR (DIAL), HAND SANITIZER, WET WIPES, HOUSEHOLD SPRAY or LIQUID DISINFECTANT. OTHER NEEDED ITEMS ARE: PAPER TOWELS, KLEENEX AND PET FOOD (DOG &CAT). We are ok on toilet paper at this time.

HENDERSONVILLE HOME BOUND MEALS PROGRAM
COVID-19 ADJUSTED SCHEDULE
YOUR HELP IS NEEDED.

DUE TO THE COVID 19 OUTBREAK, SPIRIT NIGHTS HAVE BEEN PLACED ON HOLD, WE ARE DELIVERING FROZEN MEALS, AND THE OFFICE HOURS AND DELIVERY DAYS HAVE CHANGED. The new office hours are Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 to 1:00. Delivery days have been reduced to 2 days a week, Thursday and Friday. Due to these changes, we do not need Volunteers at this time. The clients receive all 5 meals the same day, and the meals are to last until the next delivery. We have ordered Emergency Shelf Meals for our clients to have on hand in the event the supply chain of frozen meals is interrupted. THE COST FOR THE SHELF MEALS IS IN ADDITION TO THE COST FOR THE FROZEN MEALS.

In March we asked for donations of supplies that were hard to find and that we were concerned our clients would run out of. Many of you donated but the requests are increasing, and other needed items have been identified. THE NEEDED ITEMS ARE: TOILET PAPER, PAPER TOWELS, HAND SOAP, HAND SANITIZER, KLEENEX, HOUSEHOLD DISINFECTANT, AND PET FOOD (DOG &CAT).

We continue to face unique challenges and the loss of the money raised from Spirits Nights hurts. Spirit Nights brought in an average of $350.00 per event. Many of you made monetary and item donations after the March post and we are so grateful! WHAT AN INCREDIBLE COMMUNITY AND GROUP OF SUPPORTERS! The need continues, so please continue to help, if you can.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:
•MAKE A MONETARY DONATION: Donations Can Be Mailed to Home Bound Meals, 381 W Main Street, Hendersonville, TN 37075. You can also donate through our Facebook page and we are looking into other ways for you to donate.
•DONATE NEEDED ITEMS: Donations Can Be Taken to The Home Bound Meals Office Tuesday Through Friday Between 8:00am – 1:00pm. Also, there is Donation Box outside the Community Church Stadium Drive entrance for donations made after office hours.

Thank you again for your support and please continue to reach out to others, check on your friends and neighbors, pray for those with the virus, our leaders, healthcare workers, and for us all.

Thank You and May God Bless You and Yours.

Congratulations to the many people that donate and volunteer at Hendersonville Home Bound Meals Program. Thursday, August 15, the local AARP chapter celebrated its 30th anniversary. At the end of the event, Home Bound Meals was presented this certificate for the impact Hendersonville Home Bound Meals Program has on the community.

The Hendersonville Home Bound Meals Program (HBMP) is an all-volunteer organization founded in 1982 to serve the elderly population of Hendersonville. In 1982, the average number of meals served daily was 17.

Today we have exceeded our numbers from 1982 several times over. We have a list of people waiting to join the program. The segment in the population in need of this service is growing. Our ability to serve the increasing demand is only limited by our funding.

The Home Bound Meals Program has the exclusive rights to serve the eligible population in the city of Hendersonville and the surrounding areas. The program is a non-discriminatory organization.
